ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES.
NORTH AND SOUTH. [From Oun Corresi'Oxdk.vt.] WAIMATE, Juno 5. Referring to electoral boundaries, in reply to a deputation, Sir Joseph Ward stated that liis statement in Dunedin had been simply that if Parliament was unanimous on tho matter, he would bring in legislation to give the North Island six extra 6eats and leave the South Island as before. His own opinion waS that Parliament would not put sucli legislation through, and in view of tliat he did not intend to propose any change. Representation must be on a population basis, but he recognised that it was questionable whether the southern members, could represent properly the huge electorates that were being creafted. The whole question must be considered from a national standpoint.
