MEETING OF CREDITORS.
« WILLIAM MILLER. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of William Miller, builder, was held at the Official Assignee's office this morning. Six creditors were preeent. The bankrupt's statement showed that the amount owing to unsecured creditors was £$18 5s 7d, to secured creditors £202 10s 7d. and the securities amounted to £167 12s 7d, leaving a deficiency of £34 over the security. The total indebtedness was £353 3s 7d. The plant and tools were valued at £20 and book debts were estimated to produce £30 2s. The principal unsecured creditors wore : — William Goss, £111 13s 3d : William White and Co., £92 3s sd ; Williams, Stephens and Co*., £29 12s sd ; Millar's West Australian Hardwood Company, £13 4s 8d ; Ashby, Be-rgh and Co., £11 2* 7d; W. H. Benks, £9 16s 9d ; W. Martin, £8 10s ; Merchants' and Traders' Agency, £5 ss ; Scott £8 5s 8d; W. Congreve and Son, £6. The secured creditors were: — Anderson's, Limited, £82 18s lOd; Edmonds and Page, £42 3s lOd; Croxford. and Sneesby, £37 8s 6d ; Henshall and Son, £19 ; Hepburn and Son, £15 Is 2d ; and J. Otley and Son, £5 18s 3d. . In his statement the bankrupt said that ho was a builder and was Bingle. Ho had been in business since last June, and had started with. £350. He attributed his failure to tendering too low for contracts. The last contract he topk was for, Mr T. H. Evans for £750. His loss on that was £200. He considered Mr Evans's reserve for the completion of the contract excessive. The secured creditors were claimants in the balance of the contract with Mr Evans. He had met his creditors on April 15 and they had advised him to file. Questioned by Mr Salter/the bankrupt said that when he gave a'clie^pwi-" for £9 to Mr Banks on February l4 v he was not aware that his account at ' the bank was in debit. He first became aware that he was insolvent in February. He thought that he had informed his creditors of the position. No motion was proposed and the meeting adjourned.
