Tallow.— At the tallow auctions 1292 casks were offered and 937 casks were sold; mutton, fine 33s 6d per cwt, medium 29s Gd ; beef, fine 30s 9d, medium 28s 6d. Lead. — £13 per ton. Spelter.— £2o 15s per ton.

The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company has received the following cablegram from London: — "Frozen Meat. — Canterbury mutton, 4sd; Napier/ Wellington and North Island, 3|d. Lamb — First quality s£d, second quality s£d. Beef. — Hindquarters 3sd, forequarters 3Jd;"
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has received the following cable message from London, under date April 29: — "We quote present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow : — Fine mutton. 31s 6d per cwt : good beef, 30s; mixed,, 23s 3d. Tho market is firm."
