NEW ZEALAND TEAM IN NEW SOUTH WALES.

(Received April 18, 1 a.m.) To-day the New Zealanders met Waverley and were beaten by five points, the scores being — Waver}/6y 78, New Zealand 73. The following are the scores : — Gibson, Smyth, Bentley and Waddell (skip) 17; Waverley 15. Martin, Gee, Coltman and Thompson (skip) 14; Waverley 16. Martin, Galbraith, Chegwin and Bishop (skip) 15; Waverley 26. Bunting, Broad, Bastings and Johnson (skip) 27; Waverley 21. Very heavy rain fell in the afternoon, and it was impossible to start the championships. The prospects to-night are unfavourable for to-morrow. [Peb Pbesb Association.] OAMARU, April 17. The Oamaru bowling tournament was commenced to-day in fine weather. The entry was sufficient to make up four sections, one of which played on the Waimate green. The results of this section, are not available. The following rinks were in at the close of the third game of tbe <lay on the Oamaru greens : — Citizens' Match. — Third round: Sealoy (Timaru), Paterson (Gore), M'Gal--Icm (Sydenham), Baillie (Kaituna), Campbell (Ashburton), and Clark (Palmorston). Meadowbank Match. — Howe (Oamaru), Harraway (Dunedin), Taylor (Oamaru), Watson (Phoenix), M'Laren (Dunedin) and D. Bee (Phoenix). Phoenix Match. — Lefevre (Palmerston), Sanders (Kaituna), Hancock (St CJLair), Potter (Phoenix), Mollison (St Kilda), Stevenson (Taieri), Mitchell (Sydenham), Scott (Roslyn), Lock (Gore), Henley (St Albans), Laurenson (Wellington) and Swindley (Phcenix).
