SYDENHAM v. DUNEDIN

The annual fixture between Sydenham and Dunedin was played at Sydenham Park this afternoon. The ground was in excellent order, and there was no wind. The game proved a good one, the Sydenham backs having the better of the play, whilst the forwards were fairly evenly matched. A lot of hard, forward play was indulgel in throughout the game, and the tackling was very sure. The visitors were BUccessful in obtaining possession of the ball in the pack, and kept the game as close as possible, evidently being afraid of opening out, in view of the calibre of their opponents' backs. On the visitors' side Clark and Morgan (backs) did a lot of good work, and Fitzpatrick led the forwards in rijreat style, playing an excellent gar.vo ' There was a good attendance, and, although m> charge was made, a collection was taken, which was in advance of any previous record for 'these games.
