I Scott Harding, who was mysteriously ilnjured in Grove Road on Wednesday •night, died at the hospital at 1.30 yesterday afternoon, never having regained consciousness. His head was frightfully smashed. It is not likely that the injuries were the result of a fall from liis horse, as at first suggested. Harding, who of late years was frequently Intoxicated, is known to have imbibed excessively on the evening of the ooccurr r rence and is said to have drawn money but of the bank during the day. At a quarter to fire last night two men, Messrs Malcolm Morley and Charles Parkin, who were riding a bicycles from Kaiapoi to Chrietchurch, •were overtaken by. Mr G. 6. Stead's motor-car. Morley was knocked off his machine and more or less injured/ and thifi bicycle was smashed. He was conveyed to his home adjoining the Kaiajtooi Brewery in the car and was there attended to by a doctor.
