KRUGER'S MONEY.
HANDED TO THE TRANSVAAL GOVERNMENT. United Presp Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. (Received April 18, 9.4 a.m.) PRETORIA, April 17. General Botha now explains tha-t President Kruger handed the money to the late Government when he quitted the Transvaal. It was expended by various commanders. General Botha offered Lord Milner a financial statement, and not the money itself. (A cablegram from Pretoria, dated March 6, stated: " General Botha states that President Kruger left 14,000 sovereigns and 48,000 blue-backs, which have been offered to Lord Milner, who refused to accept the money, which still lies in the bank.")
