The conference of representatives of Vhe mining companies operating in the Thames, Karangahake and Corqmandel Sistricts and the Thames Miners' Union, which embraces a large number fcf workers in each district, was held to-day to discuss conditions and fix the rates of pay for miners and others. The proceedings were of a most amicable nature, a true spirit of conciliation being shown on both sides.
