The Timaru Mayoralty is to be a contested election this year. Mr T. Hawkey senior councillor, who has occupied a seat at the Council table for the nast fourteen years, has decided to contest the seat against Mr Craigie, who has been Mayor for the past six years. His Excellency the Governor, with Mr Waterfield, private secretary, arrived from Wellingtonthis morning by the l.s. Maori. Colonel Loveday was a passenger from Wellington by the s.s. Maori this morning. ______ ________
