The "Sj'dney Morning Herald's" Melbourne correspondent reports that Mr Deakin yielded to the pressure of his colleagues in retaining office. When the House meets on Wednesday a postponement of the motion for a Royal Commission on the post office will be asked for until the tariff has passed, and if that is not postponed Mr Deakin wills resign.
