The 6teamer Perth, reports that she saw rocket signals of distress while. off the Tasmania-n coast at "midniglrt on Friday. She bor c down and found the steamer Karori with a broken thrust shaft. The Perth stood by till Saturday night and transhipped the mails. .The Karori'e engineers effected repairs, and the steamer is proceeding to Sydney under easy steam.
