ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. (Per the " Star's " Pigeon Express.] The weekly stock sales at the Addington Yards were well attended to-day. The entry of store 6heep was very large; tlie fat cattle pens were well filled, the other classes being of medium dimensions: Generally, the prices ruling showed an improvement, owing to the wet weather, especially for lambs and ewes. Store sheep showed a considerable improvment. Fat lambs were not quite so keenly demanded, and the yarding was not large. Fat Cattle. — 307 head were entered, and there was in evidence a fair yarding of useful beef beasts. The prices showed an improving tendency. Steers ran from £5 17s 6d to £11 7s 6d, heifers £5 to £8 10s, cows £4 5e to £9 los and £10 ss, beef being worth 16s to 24s per 1001 b. Calves ran from 4s all the way to £2 3s and £2 19s. Among the 6ales were, on account of J. M'Bride (Temuka), 14 steers at £10 5s to £11 7s 6d; account W. T. Rutherford (The Lakes), 13 steers at £10 7s 5d to £11 os, and 9 heifers at £7 5s to £8 10s. Fat Lambs. — There was a small yarding, mostly of light-conditioned sorts. Best lambs brought from 13s to 16s 6d. with a few tegs up to 17s 3d, light lambs 10s to 12s 6d. Pigs. — Baconers brought 47s 6d to 57s 6d. heavy pigs £3 to £3. 10s, the top price The equivalent was about 5d per lb. the market being a little easier. Porkers met with a good demand at o£d to ofd per lb, selling at 35s to 465. Large stores brought 23s to 355, medium 15s to 20s, weanere 8s to 13s.
