CANTERBURY REFEREES' ASSOCIATION.

The annual general meeting of the Canterbury Referees Association was held last evening, Mr H. E. Hiddlestone presiding. The annual was adopted. Two members were proposed for election, and three resignations were accepted. The following officers were elected: — Chairman, Mr H. E. Hiddlestone; committee, Messrs F. T. Evans, P deary and J. F. Peake; secretary, Mr W. G. Garrard. The chairman stated that the executive had given notice to move, at the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Referees' Association, that the annual conferences and meetings of the New Zealand/Referees' Association should be held in future in Wellington, instead of in a place to be fixed each year. It was decided to aak Mr C. W. Garrard to represent the Association at the annual meeting in Auckland at Easter. After a discussion on the rules, it was resolved that: — "If, in the opinion of the referee, a player wilfully and systematically causes unnecessary loss of time when kicking at goal after a try has been scored, •the kick shall be forfeited." The secretary was instructed to inform clubs that pflayers must appear in their clubs' registered colours in competition matohes.
