The weather promised to be fine earvy. this morning for the swimming and rowing championships, but towa-ds eleven o'clock a heavy squall came over. The weather cleared subse- . auently. THE CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA. The following are the results of the championship regatta: — MAIDEN SCULLS— Christiansen (Union, Wanganui), 1; Robertson (Star), 2; Dustin (Gisborne), 3. Won by a length and a half. Time— Bmin 20-ec. LIGHT-WEIGHT MAIDEN FOURS—Napier. 1; Gisborne, 2; North Shore, 3. Won by +hree lengths. ■CHAMPION SCULLS— WheIch (Akaroa), • 1; M'Donald fWanga<n_i), 2; Poll (Napier), 8. Green (Wanganui), Stroke (Aramoho) and Fo'J (Star) also started. Won by twenty lengths. MAIDEN FOURS— NapieT, 1 ; Canterbury, 2: Star 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. MAIDEN DOUBLE SCULLS— Wellington, 1; Union (Napier), 2; Napier, 3. Won by four lengths. Time — 7min 7 2:ssec. CHAMPION FOURS— Blenheim No. 1, 1 ; Waitemata, 2; Clifton, 3. A splendid race. Won by three lengths. Time— llmin 47sec. YOUTHS' FOURS — Star, 1; Union (Wanganui). 2; Napier. 3. Won by half a length. THE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS. 220 YDS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP— Champion, 1; Freyberg, 2; Dodge, 3. Won by four yards. Time— 2min SOsec.
