SATISFACTORY PROGRESS. [Per Puiss Association.] AUCKLAND, December 23. The Hon J. M'Gowan, who arrivecf at Auckland on Saturday night, via the Main Trunk Railway, said that m inspected the, railway work closely. 3EW thought excellent work was ~ beinjjf done. "We hope to see the connection, made by the end of next yea* without fail," her said. " From to-day (Saturday) trains will run to WaimarV ino. This will 'reduce the distance between the rail-heads to eighteen miles. The new section between Rauximu and Waimaxino is seven miles in length* Splendid progress is being mode with! the Hapuawhenoa viaduct by the Public Works Department, and this undertaking will be. finished in very, reaeonr able time."
