ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
The Council of the Canterbury Acclin_.at_6__tion Society met last evening, Dr Moorhouse presiding. The Garden. Committee recommended Ithat 5000 trout fry should be cent to !Mr Rehtoul for distribution in the Cheviot (streams _ that Mr Butcher, of rWaikari, should be offered 1000 fry for ifil, anfl 2000 or 3000 should be sent for liberation; that three pheasants Should be sent to Mr L. Wilson at "■eddington ; and that 5000 rainbow and' 5000 brown trout fry should be Sent to the Waiau ahd its tributaries, 'ho committee reported that it had resolved that two small lakes near Lake •Coleridge should be stocked with rainbows, and that 2000 brown trout fry should b© sent to the Omihi. Ten tench had been sent to Palmeraton North, 6000 brown and 5000 rainbow trout to the Cust, 11,000 rainbows to Lake JColeridge, 500 American brook trout lbo Lake Self, and 5000 brown trout to jLeamington. The report was adopted. The secretary reported that the rebeipts for the month had been £62 ss, jftnd the expenditure £78 13s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £600.
