4 A meeting of the North Canterbury Executive of the Farmers' Union was held to-day; B^ent— Messrs M. F. Ryan (in the chair) 0. F. Clothier, R. W. Lochhead, T-. B. Howson H. T Cooper, J. W. Mnlhollaixl. ._._,„• The colonial secretary of the Union wrote conveying a resolution passed by the Wellington Provincial Executive, I proposing as a new rule— 'That the following method of striking the levy on the graduated scale should be adopted, viz , £1000 or under of capital value ss, with 1« rise for each additional £500; each, branch to add a sufficient amount for the expenses of working the branch." , - The matter was held over for ai fuller meeting, after being discussed in>comm ThT secretary stated that the bank balance tww £10 8s 2d.
