DUNEDIN NOTES.
[From Otjr Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, August 14. ! It is understood in milling circles that the Bucentaur, which ran on a reef at Suva, had a shipment of Manitoba wheat (500 tons)' for this city. When the vessel will arrive is problematical, as she has been detained in Suva for repairs. Unfortunately, there is no dock at Suva. • Yet another dredging venture is going into liquidation. This is the Ett;ick Gold Steam Dredging Company, the directors of* which recommend that course, in consequence of the reoent baring operations on the claim not having proved sufficiently satisfactory to warrant them in increasing the liabilities. Mr Widdowson, S.M., was this forenoon called on to intervene as between a father and a mother, and he mad© an order for payment of five shillings a week. Immediately thereafter the young couple concerned decided to get married, and engaged the services of the genial Court orderly as groomsman.
