THE SETTLEMENT.
£50,000 DAMAGES. (Received July 18, 8.34 a.m.) . LONDON, July 17 Tho '-'Daily Mail" and the "Mirror " withdrew their imputations against Mr Lever, and the actions were setled for £50,000 damages. Mr Rufus Isaacs, counsel for •he newspapers, announced that in view of Mr Lever's demeanour in the witnessbox, he withdrew the plea of justification. Mr Justice Lawrenco commended this as an honourable and proper course. The damages awarded are exclusive of the taxed costs.
