THE IZARD CASE.
REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. [Pbk Press Association ] MASTERTON, January 19. Henry Stratton Izard appeared before .the' Magistrate's Court to answer to fourteen charges of fraudulent breach of trust and misappropriation connected with his bankruptcy. By arrangement between counsel, only four charges were taken, and tne remaining ones were formally withdrawn without prejudice. J A statement handed in by accused admitted all four charges alleged against him and that he had committed the 'offences named therein, namely, that he ihad received for investment, on behalf of Martha Mahupuku, sums of £16,000 lend £12,000 respectively, and had ■fraudulently applied £15,976 of such money to his own use ; tha^ £1837, received from Messrs Bunny, sheepfarnier and Bustowe, merchant, he had fraudulently applied to his own use; also sums of £500 from Mr Jones, Petone, and £500 from Mr Cromwell, of i)alefield. Accused pleaded guilty, and was remanded to Wellington for sentence. Bail was allowed, himself in ' (£2OOO and two sureties of £2000 each.
