"THE LITTLE STRANGER."

It has not a shred of conventioniiity about it — 'The Little Stranger' is a ridiculously funny farce-comedy." This is how a Wellington writer describes the new farce which Messrs Meynell, Gunn and Varna will present to a Christchurch audience to-morrow evening at hie Majesty's Theatre. It must be admitted that there has been * an appalling "sameness" about farcical comedies in recent years, so that there is little wonder that Mr Michael Morton's work has been so favourably received wherever produced. " The . Little Stranger" is said to "bubble over " with amusing situations and witty dialogue. No better fare could have been offered to holiday-makers, and there is small doubt but that his Majesty's Theatre will be liberally patronised during the six nights' season of " The Little Stranger." In addition to Master Willie Parke — the child-wonder — about whom so much has been written, a specially selected company has been brought out from London. Mr James Lindsay will be well remembered in connection with Miss NelUe Stewart's company. Mr Coniway Wingfield, Mr J. W. Deverell and Mr Henry Halley were connected with "The Little Stranger" at Home. Among the ladies, the newcomers include Miss Violet Dene, Miss Henrietta Bernard, Miss Helen Russell, Miss Florence Leigh and Miss Guildford Qmn. The entire company will arrive this morning from Wellington by the Rotomahana. " The Little Stranger " will be preceded by "Wig and Gown," a delightful comedietta in one act. The box plans are at the Dresden, where seats can be booked foz any night of the brief season.
