AFTER THIRTY YEARS.
I REVELATION ON THE POINT OF DEATH. A strange revelation has been mado at Monteroni, in Southern Italy, by an old man at the point of death. Thirty years ago, on the night of December 4, 1876, the parish church was robbed of its most precious treasures, including a gold and jewelled monstrance. Suspicion fell on the sacristan of the church, who remained, imprisoned for five • months! before his innocence was established. This sacristan was lately summoned to the bedside of a dying man, who confessed to him that he, together with four others, including a friar, had been concerned in tho theft. After asking the sacristan's forgiveness, ho explained 1 that hie ao- ! complices and he liad. agTeed that the secret of their guilt should be revealed -, by the last survivor.
