~» A SATISFACTORY ENDING. [i^ER Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, November 15. The tramway difficulty has apparently been satisfactorily settled, and the cars are running as usual. The employees are jubilant over what they regard as a complete victory. It is imdenstood that Mr Hansen has no intention of bringing the matter under the notice of the Arbitration Court, having stated definitely at the conference with the men that the trouble wa6 over so far as he was concerned, and that he would let the matter drop. In reply to a telegram sent by Mr Rofiser, the Union secretary, the Premier wired : — " Your telegram re Tram j Company putting on unlicensed men, etc., to hand. Have referred matters ' to the Labour Department. The matter is to be specially watched in the interests and safety of the travelling public. No inexperienced men should be allowed to undertake sucK duties." This morning -Mr Rosser telegraphed to Sir Joseph Ward . as follows : — " Tramway strike ended satisfactorily to men. All points conceded by company. Tlianks for your wire of assurance."
