WORK AND WAGES.
♦ CONCILIATION BOAED. The Canterbury Conciliation Board 'met this morning; present — Messrs T. J. M'Bride (chairman), H. Broadhead and G. B. Chick (representing the employers), and H. R. Rusbridge and F. J. iSidmeade (representing the employees)'. The chairman j who took his seafc for the first tSbe, wa6 congratulated by the other members of ths Board upon his appointment?, and wished every success in his new office. Mr M'Bride briefly returned thanks. The case brought by the Gardeners' Union was then called on, and considerable discussion took place as to ; ths status of some of the persons cited. The Union had cited all persons who employed a man as gardener, for the whole or any part of his time, and objection was taken to that course. After a lengthy discussion the matter was held over for further consideration. m The Board will sit again in the Provincial Council Chambers at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
