NEW ZEALAND PATENTS.
.We believe that no other country in tKe world shows the same progressiveness in the matter of patents as does New Zealand. There are more applications made Jpro per 1000 of the population than in any other country, the United States not excepted.
it is true that many of these are for provisional protection only, and may never be completed, but the fact remains that the inventive faculty is there and will not be kept quiescent. A greater percentage of patents turn out well than is generally imagined. A does not find it convenient to blurt out his business. He has a money-making monopoly, and he intends to preserve it. That is the reason why you don't hear of the successes. But they are there, quietly returning their profits to the patentees. If anyone interested -would like to know about some successful inventions, let them call on Henry Hughes, Patent Agent, at his offices, 183, Hereford Street, and they will perhaps bo edified. A large section of the firm's clients are successful . principally because their interests are 60 carefully safeguarded. , 9219
