"THE CANTERBURY TIMES."

The central feature of the illustrations of this week's "Canterbury Times" is a very fine series of the pretty seaport town of Napier, which includes a panoramic view or the town, taken from Colenso Hill, besides photographs of places of interest and a pretty . glimpse of The Spit and Port Ahuriri, taken from the Hospital. Two other features are the opening of the duckshooting season on Lake Ellesmere and General Booth's tour through the .North Island. There is also a full-page photograph of the Christchurch Tramway Company's employees, besides pictures of the beautiful chrysanthemums which were awarded premier honours at the Canterbury United Horticultural Society's Show, held on May 4 and 5. Amongst the miscellaneous subjects dealt with in the .illustrations are Tasmania's glorious scenery, the big fire at Palmerston North, Hokianga Harbour, and an Indian " Bunderbust." There are, too, photographs of the late Charles Arnold, of "Hans the Boatman " fame, of Mr E. W. Relpb, Mayor of Ilangiora, and of the late Mrs James Baker, of Itaiapoi.
