•After an absence of four years and a half in England, Mr Graham Roberts returned to Christchurch this morning. Dr Mafrks, who has been appointed Senior House-Burgeon at the Dunedin Hospital, is only twenty-four years of age. He was Jnnbr House-Surgeon at the Wellington Kc-rnfcal, and was formerly in- charge <^. J ;he Bottle Lake Hospital for infectious diseases. Captain Scott-Harden, late of the Lancashire Fusiliers, who~^s at present on a visit to Christchurch, has recently been in the Far East, as war correspondent tp several London journals. He intends to deliver' an illustrated lecture on his experiences, probably on Monday evening. Messrs J. E. Henrys, H. Brinkman. J. F. Buchanan, Malcolm Ross, and de *C. Malet went south by the express this morning. • Mr and Mrs D. Rutherford and Miss Rutherford left for tho south this morning. Mr G. Tr Booth is about to leave ' Chri&tchuroh on a visit to England and -America, and the Employers' Association, in view of the active interest he I has taken, in the Association, and in in- | dustries in^general, purpose entertain- : ing him at a. banquet, to be held on Monday evening next.
