WIRELESS WAR KITES.
KAISER'S SECRET TRIALS OF A NEW INVENTION. In the presence of the Kaiser some interesting experiments took place in the Baltic on July 2 with a newly-discovered method of wireless telegraphy by means of kitos. The invoutor is a German-American ! professor, at present residing at Havre, ■who lias for a long time past been in commuuicntion with the German naval authorities, and has now displayed the new invention to the Emperor personally. | Naturally, the strictest eecrecy was ob- : served regarding the whole, matter, and t:very sailor to whom the new apparatus was shown was compelled to take an oath not to speak of the device. At the operations, which were carried out about a mile from shore^ seven kites weru iiown on copper wires to a height ot' from ten to twelve thousand feet. Ths ■experiments were partly made from the Kaiser's despatch boat Sleipner, travelling at the rate of thirty sea. miles an hour, and several languages were employed. It is possible to employ the system over the greatest distances without affecting any ! other \vireles6 telegraphy station. The form of the kiUa iieed is that of two cubes side by side. The patent will be acquired for a large sum by the German Navy. Hif» ' Majesty expressed the greatest interest in the new invention
