THE CATHEDRAL AND RACING. - TO TUB EDITOR. ..Sir,— Your .correspondent, "AntirHum,bug," in this evening's "Star," complains of finding the Cathedral closed on Tuesday, on j account of the races, and its usual choral I service abandoned. Is it a fact, that such j is the case? lamat a loss to know' what connection the Cathedral has with the racebourse. lam one with your correspondent when he says. " Oh, the awfulness of it." If, as I understand, fche. choir was dispensed with in order that it might attend the races,, it is a standing disgrace j to the officiating clergyman that he allows it. The churches are* lamenting over the J rarity of conversions. .When and how can i conversions be expected when those who are taking part in God's work act the hypo- 1 crite, one day singing God's praises and j the next day shouting on the racecourse T I j refer them" to 11. Corinthians, 6 and 17. How jthe world looks on and sneers and derides the name of Christian! How God's work is hindered ! When shall we. get converted choirs ?
