ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Per Press Association.] HAWERA, July 6. The Opunake coach was upset at Waingongova Hill, between Manaia and Hawera, this morning. The driver and two passengers were injured, but fuller particulars are not available. A doctor has gone to the scene of the accident. LATER. The coach was smashed to atoms. On top of Waingongoro Hill a trace broke, which, flapping against the horses' legs, caused the team to bolt at a break-neok pace down the hill. Half-way down, one horae fell, and was dragged to the bottom. Mr C. B. Morrison, of Auckland, jumped from the box-seat, and had his right shoulder dislocated. Miss Gibb, of Otakeho, also jumped, and, landing on her head, received severe injuries to her face. The driver (Mouri) stuck to his team till j the coach was smashed against the bridge, at the bottom of the hill. He was then thrown ' soms distance, and was badly shaken, and his nose was severely injured.
