Fat Cattle. — The heavy yarding of he-ad was in excess of the demand, and prices were- weaker, only prime Canterbury beef fetching the maximum price of 225, whils North Island bullocks sold up to 21s } and second quality and cow beef about 18s. Twenty-four North Island bullocks' sold at £9 12? 6d to £10 15s ; a line from Mr C Dampier-Crossler, Waikari, made for 9 steers £8 5s to £8 17s 6d, and four heifers £7 10s ; other lines steers £6 to £10, heifers £5 2s 6d to £8 2s 6d, and one at £ 2a 6d, and cows £5 2s 6d to £7 2s 6d. Fat Calves sold at from 5s to £3, good vealers selling well. Fat Sheep. — There was a large entry. The sale opened firm Fat Lambs. — There was a good entry in point' of numbers, but a good many were in indifferent condition. All descriptions were strongly competed for, and week's rates were fully maintained, the sale closing firm. Store Sheep and Lambs. — The entry was fairly large, and included some good lines of ewes andi of lambs, which sold exI tremely well at fully recent values. ' Pigs. — The entry was very large, and with the fall in the value of bacon there was a dull sale, and prices all round were considerably lower. Choppers sold at 55s to 90s, baconers 40s to 54s (equal to 4d to 4-|d per lb), porkers 26s to 40s (4£d to 5Jd), stores 18s to 265, small stores 14s to 17s, suckers. 8s to 12s 6d. I
