BEAUTY LUNCHEON.
LOVELY GUESTS PRESENTED WITH GOLDEN APPLES. , Fashionable society in Chicago was intensely excited over a "beauty luncheon" given there on March 17 by Mrs Barton Payne. It had i been the topio of universal discussion for weeks before. Mrs Payne's guests were ten ladies whom she conaideredthe most beautiful in Chicago society /in form, features and complexion. Each 'guest was presented with a goldtp apple and a dainty, hand -painted souveajir card containing a sentiment concerning beauty from one of the poets. A professional palmist afterwards read the fortunes of the beauties./ The selection of the fortunate ten naturally aroused wholesale jealousy in feminine circles in Chicago.
