The " Times," commenting on tie arduous problems confronting the Commonwealth, expresses anxiety for Australia's future. Some of the demands of the labour leaders regarding impending legislation undoubtedly command the approval and sympathy of European Socialists. Referring: to Sir George Turner's suddten conversion of the State loans, the "Times" fears that the difficulties applying to the principle of his scheme for taking over the States' debts will prove gravej and will keenly tax the statesmanship of both the Federation and the States.
