MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.

A meeting of creditors in the estate of Henry Charles Dowle (Mr Hunt), painter, Woofston, was held at the Official Assignee's office this morning. Bankrupt's statement showed £181 8s 6d to be owing to unsecured creditors, the principal of whom were W. Sey, £24 5s ; Andrew Lees, £25 ; Craddock : Orr and Co.* £26 ss ; Smith and Smith, £14 ss; C. Duggan, £18 10s; and Ashby, Bergh and Co., £12 10s. The stock-in-trade was estimated at £2, and the book debts, stated to be valueless, at £4. The deficiency was £179 Bs '6d. In' answer to questions bankrupt stated that he had been in business for \he past eight years, but for several years bad been dropping behind. He had lost considerably on contracts, and had been out of work about a quarter of the time. The section . on which he lived and the house belonged to his wife, bnt were mortgaged. It was decided to adjourn the meeting sine die, the bankrupt meanwhile to supply a statement of his contract work. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Alfred H. Wilshire and Andrew Scott, cordial manufacturer, called for thia morning, lapsed for want of a quorum. Scott's statement showed amount owing to unsecured creditors to be £183 8a lOd, and the assets (book debts estimated to produce the full amount) £90, leaving a deficiency of £93 8s lOd.
