The Prussian Protestants are greatly excited at the repeal of clause 2 of the Jesuit law, and protest against the Centre and the Roman hierarchy directing the policy of German Prussia. . l(By the repeal of the clause lefened to the Jesuits are again allowed to establish themselves in the German Empire. The i law was one of the iron measures of the late - Prince Bismarck, and had for its object the" i removal of priestly influence in the control ■; of church affairs, both Roman Catholic and j Evangelical, and in effect the placing of the { Church Government in the hands of the ' State as represented by the Chancellor hjinself.) l ..■'■•■ ■
