[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, January 30. The inquiry into tlhe running ot tlhe Novel Race at iihe Ral_rersto_ Racing Club's meeting on New . Year's Day was re-opened last night, and after hearing the evidence of E. M'Lean, the jockey who had 'the mount on Patron, the steward, adjourned fur-itier inquiry till Thursday next. Mr A. Moss, wlh© returned from his unprofitable trip to Wellington on Wednesday, informs me iihaifc 'he is quite una.le to account for Canteen's form last week. The New Zealand Cup winner- was, he says, apparently inrobust health. ■ Mr W. Bl Vigers, f_r 'some time a member of the Dumedin Jockey Club committee, -returned from a trip to England a few days ago.
