f • " *— At the Imperial Rifles' social evening last Wednesday, on the occasion of ex-Captain .Charlewood being entertained, the following winners; of Morris-tube prizes were presented witH their trophies : — Colour-sergeant Moncrief, Sergeant Miller, Sergeant Tulloch, Sergeant Smith, Corporal Elmsly, Corporal Cowlin, Lance-Corporal Sepie, Private Ronnie, Private Humm, Private Watts, Private Laurie and Bugler Waddington. y, . . . \ The Linwood Rifles Shield a competition on Janurfry 2, at the Sumner range, for various trophies. The following are N results : — Fox's trophy (final competition), Private Behrndt 174, Colour-Sergeant Gee 165, Sergeant Williamson 163, Sergeant P. Jack 161- Class A Handicap (seven shots afc 500, 600 and 700 yds), Private T. Jack 92, Sergeant Jack 90, Sergeant Williamson 90. Ten shots at 600 amd 700yds— Private A. Cooper 90, Colour-Sergeant Gee 85, Private Behrndt 81. Class A Aggregate Handicap — Private -T. Jack 342, Sergeant Jack 340. A- silver medal for B md* C class shots was won by Private B. Mitchell, who also won two handicap competitions. In tlie C Class Bugler Taylor came out top in two matches and also won the aggregate prize, Private Palmer being second, and Private Howes third. Privat© Savage was first in the Class B Aggregate, Private V A. Cooper second, and Private B. Mitchell third. For the company's Belt Private T. Jack is leading -with 333 points from Sergeant T. Jack 331, and Colour-Sergeant Gee [ 330. There is one competition yet to fire at [ 800, 900 and 1000 yds, s^ven shots at each j distance. .."'<■■ ,
