THE WELLINGTON HARBOUR COLLISION.

♦ The Union Company's shore staff (says Tuesday's Wellington "Post") has made good progress ■with the work of raising the schooner Jessie Nicoll, which was sunk by the Hotomahana on Saturday night. The men worked at the vessel up to a late hour on Monday nigtft and succeeded in shifting her to within about seventy yards of the GlasgowWharf. On resuming in the morning the schooner, was brought right into tihe shallow water to the north of the new Glasgow Wharf. The starboard gunwale and deckhouses are well out of the water, but all the port side, on which the steamer! bow struck, is covered with water. The only apparent damage beside the main hole is a i broken bowsprit. Temporary repairs will be effected to the vessel. It is probable tlat tie magisterial inquiry into the collision will be held about January 9.
