In consequence, they resent as a. cruel injustice the fatigue, chagrin, and newspaper notoriety that money invariably brings in its trail. It would be about as consistent for a little boy wlio' had gorged 'himself upon purloined apples. to feel injured when an avenging stomach ache followed gluttony.
