ENTERTAIN MENTS.
'Ihe membef-s of the Lyttelton Literary and Debating Society .had a very pleasant "musical evening" in the Presbyterian Schoolroom last night. There was a large attendance, and the Mayor, Mr W. Itad* cliffe, who is one of the vice-presidents of the society, presided. A programme, arranged'by Miss Henderson, was gone uirougih. Songs were sung by Mrs Gilmcre; Misses Meikle, Bishop, Robinson, Lindsay and Burns, and Messrs Clow and Jacobs. Glees were rendered by Mrs Gilmore, Miss Henderson -and Messrs Jacobs and Clow. Miss Henderson was accompanist. A pianoforte solo was played by Miss R. Webb and a pianoforte trio by. Misses Webb, Hattdn and Wilson. Miss RObinsori gave a recitation. At the close of the programme a hearty vote of thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who had taken part in it was carried by acclamation.
