MELBOURNE, July 24.
In the House of Representatives the Dek fence Bill was read a second time. In ths course of the debate Mr Hume Cook e_w pressed a wish to see the way open for send* ing troops to New Zealand if she were at* tacked. He thought Australia would bs best defended by repelling an attack mad* on that colony/

The Federal Cabinet has adopted General Hutton's military reorganisation scheme uj a considerably modified form.
