A gorgeous gala performance at the Opera was giveo in honour of thej visit, at which the King and Queen^ Presi-* dent Loubet, and all the Royal family »ti tended, and a wonderfully brilliant aWembW age was present. The display of diamond* was marvellous. Parts of the operas of "Rigoletto," "Romeo and Juliette" and "Carmen" were produced, and Mesdaineil Melba and Calve took part.
