THE VOLUNTEERS.
After a lapse of four months, the officers of the Queen's Cadets . decided to re-form the 'company, and a meeting for that purpose was held on Thursday night, in the Civil Service Rifles' orderly-room. Over eighty lads applied for enrolment, but, owing to a number of applicants being under the standard height, there are still a few vacancies for recruits of about sft 4in. Owing to the Government grant being so small, the officers are v casting about for means of supplementing the company's funds. The corps is still without an orderly-room. A parade of those enrolled will be held to-morrow night, at eight o'clock, in the orderly-room of the Linwood Rifles.
