AN AGENT-GENERAL'S LETTER.
LONDON, June 9. The South Australian Agent-General, in a letter published in the " Standard," says that the colonies ask Britain to make a beginning, however small, in the direction of preferential trade. It is possible to encourage Australian wine and 'Indian and Ceylon teas, or to concede some small preference to other products.
