One hundred and twenty-three persons perished in the wreck of the Liban. (The Traissiet Company's steamers Insolaire and Liban collided off >iarseilles. The Liban, a ship of 3000 tone, sank in ten minutes, bow foremost. There was wild difcordeij nmong the passengers, the vessel disappearing amidst wild shrieking. A sailor who was a .passenger by the Liban attributes the collision to the inefficiency of the Liban's captain. The weather was calm nt the time of tho disaster. There was only time to lower one boat.)
