JUMPING OVER A DONKEY.

Some years ago. When a college fifteen ■was playing a football match on a common, some young roughs who were "larking about'"' with a donkey, managed to drive it through the spectators, who were lining the touch-line, on to the ground. At that moment the captain was making) a dashing run' down- the touch-line, and,, when it suddenly appeared, being unable either to stop or to dodge it, he shortened nis stride and cleared the donkey's back, and scored a "try" amidst tremendous cheering.
