GAT ROUTS AN ORGANIST
AN UNUSUAL INCIDENT.
An unusual incident occurred recently in one of the Roman Catholic churches in North London. During the sermon the keys cf the organ suddenly commenced to move up and down, first in the bass, then in the treble, sometimes slowlyi sometimes rapidly! All the *time) no one apparently was touching, the instrument.
It being Holy Week, there was no organ music during the service^ but subsequently^ the choristers commenced to rehearse Mozart's Twelfth. Mass. Tie organist began the -Kyrie Eleison, but erelong its strains w-are intermingled! with strange piercing The organist struggled manfully on or some time, but " ifc was not Mozart, but simply a waste of time," as one of the choristers put it. So the choir, greatly perplexed, adjnu,rned.' The next day the front of the organ was taken out .to see Avhat was the matter i and there crawled! out in a half-dying state &■ much -battered black cat— the cause", of all the mischief.
