MR V. H. HASELDEN, S.M.

A WELCOME FROM THE BAR. . This morning, before the business of the Magistrate's Court was commenced, Mr H. J 4 Eeswick, president of the District Law Society, extended a Welcome, on behalf of the Ohristchurch Bar, to Mr W. R. Haselden, S.M., who succeeds Mr R. Beetham as resident Stipendiary Magistrate of Christchurch. Mr Bes-vrick apologised first of all for not having extended a welcome to his Worship on the previous day, tlio first upon which he sat as Resident Magistrate in Christchurch. He Assured Mr Haselden that he would have the cordial support of the Bar, who would do ail in their power to assist his Worship in the carrying out of his duties.
