The residence of Mr Kiridersley, a master of Eton, waa gutted* by fire eaily on Monday. Great difficulty was experienced in ■rescuing the inmates, and many brave deeds were recorded. Two boys died from suffocation, and one struggled to feniove the batrs.-of an upper window until he jtaceune unconscious. A large creeper growng in front of the house enabled many to flesoend to the ground. Mr Kindersley and several others were injured.,- The King and Queen are much distressed by the occurrence (The pupils of Etc-n College consist of King's scholars, or "Collegers" and Oppidans. The former are limited to seventy, and join the College between ten and fourteen years of age. They are lodged within the College walls. The latter number about i 900, and board with the masters of the College at different residences. It is appafc- [ ently one of these that has been destroyed.)
