The roller in question had been requisitioned by the local Highway Board for road repairing purposes, but although it, had Veen cent, and although tons of macadam hadf been laid on the roads ready for -its services,'- it did not turn up. So the town crier was aent out, and he "cried" the lost -engine so -effectually that it Boon afterwards made its appearance in the town. .
